Youth

Large youth activities

Youth activities are a large and important part of our parish work. We have a youth pastor who works 75%, specifically focusing on young people and including them in parish life.

To find out what's happening with the young people in our parish, you can follow our Instagram account: AfterLife_Skelleftea and join our SuperText chat, where you will receive mailings for Fridays and other events.

In our parish we have a few different sections for young people:

  • After Life: As a continuation of Friday evening, after the middle school children's Life meetings, After Life starts for all young people. Every Friday evening during the school year, young people gather in Brukskyrkan to have a devotion with praise, short teaching and intercession, followed by some activity and then hanging out and fellowship in the church premises. The evenings are free and you are welcome just as you are. There is a kiosk here to buy sweets, drinks and toast and on some Fridays there is also a coffee service.
  •  GROW: Brukskyrkan, together with Pentecostal Church Skellefteå, organizes an alternative confirmation every other year, where grades 8–9 together receive a year of discipleship where they learn about the basics of Christian faith and are challenged to have their own relationship with Jesus. The next planned start of GROW is autumn 2027 and then for young people born in 2012–2013.
  • Camps: Every year during the sports break, we organize a sports break camp for young people from grade 7 and up. The locations for the camp vary, but there are always a few days filled with skiing, activities, meetings and teaching.
  • Festivals: Every year two major initiatives are organized here in Norrland for young people, UNITE – a New Year's festival and UPL: Young at Lappis – part of the Lappis summer conference. We as a congregation are here and encourage young people to join us.
